If you are interested in working with Healthy Androscoggin and the health of Androscoggin County citizens, consider joining one of our committees and fill out our online membership application.

Our Committees:

Nutrition Committee

Healthy Androscoggin's Nutrition Committee is comprised of community members and professionals dedicated to improving the nutrition of Androscoggin residents. They develop all of our nutrition initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing, distributing and updating the first ever Nutrition Resource Guide
• Planning and implementing the annual Mauer Meals promoting the use of locally grown produce in local restaurants
• Providing technical assistance to worksites, schools and other organizations that would like to improve the health of their employees, students and members.

Physical Activity Committee

The committee partners with the school districts and local organizations on various projects, supports local bicycling & walking trail committee efforts and leads efforts such as our own physical activity incentive program Get Fit & Win and our Open Doors project.

Responsibilities include:

• Updating and distributing Healthy Androscoggin materials (Including the Healthy Androscoggin Physical Activity Resource Guide)
• Providing technical assistance to worksites, schools and other organizations that would like to improve the health of their employees, students, and members

Tobacco Committee

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and implementing the annual Quit & Win Program
• Distributing Healthy Androscoggin materials, including the Tobacco Resource Guide

Substance Abuse Prevention Committee

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and implementing Healthy Androscoggin programs, including the Diversion Program
• Coordinating the increase in enforcement of underage drinking laws with local police departments

Media Task Group

Includes professionals in radio, newspaper and Internet advertising;

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing ads and press releases around Healthy Androscoggin initiatives throughout the grant cycle
• Assisting in coordination of Healthy Androscoggin's health promotion activities and development of yearly media plans

Work Healthy Task Group

Responsibilities include:

• Planning and promoting the Work Healthy program and recognition breakfast
• Developing the first Work Healthy Immigrant program
• Providing technical assistance to worksites that wish to create or strengthen wellness policies
