Bath Salts Resources

In February 2012, Healthy Androscoggin, the Lewiston-Auburn Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative, and the Lewiston-Auburn Public Health Committee organized an informational forum on the rising trend of “bath salt” abuse in Maine. The forum had two goals.

  1. To provide professionals such as first responders, medical staff, educators, and behavioral health specialists the tools and information they would need when encountering individuals under the influence of “bath salts”.
  2. To create a prevention plan for Lewiston/Auburn in hopes of not enduring the considerable impacts other communities in Maine have suffered.

In all, about 100 professionals gathered to be educated and to put together the prevention plan.
