Project Unite! is Healthy Androscoggin’s community-based substance abuse prevention steering committee. The role of Project Unite! is to monitor current substance abuse trends, develop and implement strategies to address root causes and local conditions, and to provide overall guidance for the development and implementation of the Androscoggin County 5-year Substance Abuse Prevention Strategic Plan.
Project Unite! consists of community from several sectors of the community including youth, parents, business, media, education, youth-serving organizations, law enforcement, religious/fraternal organizations, civic/volunteer groups, healthcare, state/local government, and other community organizations addressing substance abuse. Having many and varied voices at the table helps ensure a comprehensive and inclusive community effort to reduce substance abuse in Androscoggin County.
The Project Unite! Steering Committee meets monthly on the third Tuesday of every month. There are also several work groups that work on specific strategies such as prescription drug disposal, communications/social marketing, underage drinking prevention, and others. If you are interested in joining either the Steering Committee or working on a specific substance abuse prevention initiative, please contact the Substance Use Prevention Manager, Corrie Brown at 795-5990 or email
Project Unite! has created a Substance Use Community Resource Guide that is intended to be a resource for those who think they, or a friend or family member, might have a problem with alcohol or other drugs. It includes quick and easy-to-read reference lists of local support groups and treatment providers. We encourage you to share this resource guide with anyone who might benefit from it.
